Puff stitch is one of my favorite raised stitches. It’s similar to bobble and popcorn, but much more delicate and smooth, and that’s why I like it so much! When you are thinking about making an afghan from squares, it’s good to add some structure to it. Puff stitch works perfect as an interesting detail – it creates little beads that together can add up to really fun patterns. If you are a beginner, don’t worry, because it’s not that hard to learn! It takes some practice, because you need to pull the yarn evenly and it can get crowded on a hook after several yarn overs. Puffy Crochet Squares look great and work nicely with other, simpler squares.
